This doesn't sound right to me... maybe I'm strumming it at incorrect intervals...

I don't recall how the verse goes, but for the chorus, the progression A - E - F#m - D works for me fine. Thanks to you for giving me the ideas for the chords, though. Grace and peace to you!

CaliGirl - 2004-06-03

I've always played the progression of Em-C-G-D for this song, both verse and chorus. Also, this song isn't written by Michael W. Smith, though it is performed and recorded by him. It was written by Michael Farren, lead singer for the band Pocket Full Of Rocks, and is also recorded by them.

im with Nightsquire so...
try this maybe iduno? no really try it
A E FdimF#m D-E
Open the flood gates of heaven. Let it rain, Let it rain.
On the Fdim i know it might seem a little ouchy but it works
you just got to push it its a fast chord right on "it" and let
it ring out to "rain" God bless! of course

guitargurl247 - 2004-10-23

good tab! I've always just played it Am, F, C, and G. I don't know if that'll work for anybody but I like that too. God bless!

The Song Let It rain Is a powerful song!

diamondspikers - 2005-06-07

Actually from a keyboard point of view, the best sounding progression is
Am
Let it rain,
F
Let it rain,
C G
Open the floodgates of heaven,
Am
Let it rain.

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick

diamondspikers - 2005-06-07

I'm sorry, it's supposed to be

Let it rain(Am)
Let it rain(F)
(C)Open the floodgates of (G)heaven
Let it rain(Am)

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray." - Samuel Chadwick

I think it's
G
A Let it rain,
F C
Let it rain,

G F C
B Open the floodgates of heaven,

G
C Let it rain

I play A and B in Bare and C in the first position

JCLF-06 - 2006-01-19

A Bm G
Let it rain, Let it rain,
A A
Open the floodgates of heaven

This is how we play if at worship... not really really close but it's works.

I think that`s it, the numbers are the frets...And go down down down up down and thats how you get it. After you get that down...take a capo and put it on the 9th or 10th fret it sounds sooooo cool... :D
