"Too Tender" by Caedmon's Call From "My Calm//Your Storm" Words and music by Aaron Tate (strings arranged by Aric Nitzberg) Copyright © 1994 Cumbee Road Music (ASCAP) Romans 7:15-20 caedmons-call.com awakeningrecords.com Transcribed by T-rev http://www.t-rev.net A really nice duet; sounds great with just two voices and a guitar. Here are a few different ways to play it standard-tuned: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE EASY WAY - Simple to play, but doesn't sound like the original: 0x2100 E x46600 C#m x24400 B x02200 A 4x6444 G#m 2x2200 F#m INTRO/VERSE/CHORUS: E, C#m7, Bsus4, A9, repeat... E|---------0---------------0---------------0------- etc... B|-------0---0-----------0---0-----------0---0----- Follow the chord G|-----1-------1-------1-------1-------6-------6--- progression using D|---2-----------2---2-----------2---6-----------6- the same A|---------------------------------4--------------- arpeggiated E|-0---------------0------------------------------- picking pattern. E ............................. C#m.................B...A BRIDGE: G#m, A, G#m, A, G#m, A, F#m, B E|-----------------4-------------------------------0--------------- B|-----------4---------------4---------------0---------------0----- G|-------4-------4-------4-------4-------2-------2-------2-------2- D|-----6-------6-------6-------6-------2-------2-------2-------2--- A|---------------------------------0------------------------------- e|-4--------------------------------------------------------------- G#m ........................... A9.............................. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE HARD WAY - Sounds like the original, if you're able to do it... Same as the easy way, with the following changes: 0x6200 E X46200 C#m ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE BEST WAY - Put a 345- partial capo on the second fret. This is how I play it. (I think Derek actually does it tuned DGDGAD, capo 2.) Sounds like the original AND is easy to play. Same picking pattern: ox40oo E | # = any string fingered # frets above the capo x240oo C#m | 0 = capoed string not fingered x022oo B | o = uncapoed string not fingered 3x00oo A | c = uncapoed string fingered at same fret as the capo 2x4222 G#m | x = any string not played cx00oo F#m Transcribed 7/6/1997 revised 3/2/2000 by T-rev More tab available at http://www.t-rev.net
