now, for that neat grindy whining noise here, take the palm of your left hand
and place it at the 17th fret over the g and b strings like so, where "x" rep-
resents your left hand (this is for a right handed guitar):
g-17x-
b-17x-
easy enough, now take your stumming hand and grind that pick up and down
the g and b strings gradually sliding it up towards the bridge for the higher
pitch.

then, with no particular rythm:

then rythm launches back into the chorus while you, the intrepid lead player,
do a partial mute over the 5th fret, then the 6th fret for that neat effect.
like so where "x" indicates a partial mute:

if it sounds weird when you do it, hit the strings harder and use down-up 
strumming.

the rest is just rythm and palm muting.

sorry, same thing as i said b4 about the chorus, accept...
instead of this

it should be

Don't forget in the video, the other player(now POD player) does some harmonics or something below the neck . . .
