Some Blue Collar Songs (ASCAP)
(P) & © 1999 Tooth & Nail Records
Remember folks, if you’re playing along with the record you’ve got to
tune every string down half a step.
Intro: Goes back and forth between 2 chords:
G (low to high 320003) and Cmaj7 (x32000)
Note that the G chord could very well be played without fretting the 3
on the high E string, or maybe even by adding a major 7th (320002). It
really sounds ok however you do it, and variety is always nice.
The piano is playing:
e--------2-- -------2-
B-----3----- -0--3----
G--4-------- or --------- if you prefer
D----------- ---------
A----------- ---------
E----------- ---------
The lyrics are impossible to dechiper, and I can’t find them online.
These are wrong! If you got a lyric sheet with your 12” of this album,
let me know.
G Cmaj7
I lifted you along with nothing really wrong
G Cmaj7
But you might stop the party
For this part, play the Dsus2 (xx0230), and simply fret the A string on
the 2nd fret for the Bm11 (x20230), and just change that a little bit for
the C9 type thing (x32030). It makes sense—I swear.
Dsus2 Bm11 C9 Dsus2 Bm11 C9
I never did you wrong You keep on wasting holidays
Dsus2 Bm11 C9 Dsus2 Bm11 C9
I guess I can’t be wrong I never wasted holidays
G Cmaj7
A friend like you is all I need, I wanna know
G Cmaj7
You might stop the party
Dsus2 Bm11 C9 Dsus2 Bm11 C9
I never did you wrong You keep on wasting holidays
Dsus2 Bm11 C9 Dsus2 Bm11 C9
I guess I could be wrong I never wasted holidays
G Cmaj7
I wanna know I wanna know
G Cmaj7
I wanna know I wanna know
And so on. Simple tune. Questions, comments, angry bashing, email me.
Ever notice the lack of clear, accurate, Starflyer tabs on the internet?
Let’s try to change that. Tune your guitar down a step and stick in a
CD—you’ll be surprised at how many you can play along with, and then it’s
just one more step to type it out like this. We can change a nation!
And such.
