This really isn't a correction
When we play this song in my Youth group we add a G7 after the G and before the C.
Right in the middle of the sentence.
So...
G G7 C
Life was filled with guns and war, everyone got trampled on the floor
...
Thats what it would look like, and you just add those acoordingly, I trust you'll know where to put them. Gives it a nice sound.
