Hey this is my first tab, so tell me what you think.
You might be right. I've never seen the dvd. I jsut played it this way with my friend who plays guitar and it sounded right. But I could be wrong. It just sounds a bit more overdrive guitar sounding to me than bass distortion sounding. But again, i could most definitly be wrong.
I can also hear the bass thought in the album recorded track. So it could possibly have both the gutiar play that and the bass play it. To me it sounds like the bass is playing undistorted, normal bass along with the guitar playing with an overdrive or distortion sound.
Yeah, so I know this is an old thread, but I was learning this via your tab, and it wasn't quite cutting it for me when I played along with the CD.
Try this for the intro for the very first guitar you hear:
Standard Tuning
e ---------------------
B --11-----------------
G --9------13---------- (Guitar I play this throughout the entire song)
D ----------11---------
A ---------------------
E ---------------------
And this for the second Guitar/Bass duo:
e ---------------------
B ---------------------
G --------------------- (Guitar II and Bass play this for the intro and verses)
D ---------------------
A --22---22-9----------
E --00---00-7----------
Now, Guitar II, if you don't want to run all that way from that far E-chord, try this:
e ---------------------
B ---------------------
G ---------------------
D --99---99------------
A --77---77----9-------
E --00---00----7-------
As far as the chorus goes, kudos, you did well. The only thing that rings in my ears is that second 7-5 chord on the E and A strings you have tabbed for the chorus. Haven't figured out what sounds better, yet.
I'm noobish to guitar, but when I played along with the CD, my corrections sounded dead on. By the way, thanks for the point in the right direction!
That pre-chorus is played by the same guitar (I) that opens the song. If you listen carefully, it's got a higher pitch to it than what you have tabbed. Unless you were going for a bass sound.
