American Dream
I play this song in Drop D though it’s probably played in E.
It still sounds the same.

Intro
G [-4-4-4-4/14-14/-4-4-/14-14/-4-4----6--4--2--4--2--0-]
D [-x-x-x-x/-x--x-/--x-x/-x--x-/-x-x----x--x--x--x--x--x-]
A [-2-2-2-2/12-12/-2-2/12-12/-2--2----4--2--0--2--0--x-]

Verse

G [-4--4--4--4-]
D [-x--x--x--x-]
A [-2--2--2--2-]x5 (sort of muted or played really quiet -
on the last round play it hard)

G [-x-4-x-4-]
D [-x-x-x-x-]
A [-x-2-x-2-] x8

Pre-Chorus

G [-4-4-6-6-8-8-11-11]
D [-x-x-x-x-x-x--x--x-]
A [-2-2-4-4-6-6--9--9-]

Chorus
Chords: B and E

Guitar 1
    B E B E B E B
D [-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-]

D [-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-2-2-2-2-9-9-9-9-]

Guitar 2 (or 1, playing it with his lower fingers
while he strums the main power chords) plays this
after each chord strum starting on the third B progression:
G [--11--11--11--11--4--4--4--4-]
D [--11--11--11--11--4--4--4--4-]
End when they return to the final ‘B’ power chord progression (the fourth B).

After Chorus:
G [-14-14-14-14/-4-4-]
D [--x---x--x---x/-x-x-]
A [-12-12-12-12/-2-2-] x2

And then:
G [--6-4-2-4-2-0-]
D [--x-x-x-x-x-x-]
A [--4-2-0-2-0-0-]

Repeat:
Verse
Pre-Chorus
Chorus

Bridge
G [-4-4-4-4/-14-14-14-14-]
D [-x-x-x-x/--x---x--x---x-]
A [-2-2-2-2/-12-12-12-12-]

G [-4-4/-14-14-14-14-]
D [-x-x/--x--x--x--x-]
A [-2-2/-12-12-12-12-] x3

G [--6-4-2-4-2-0--4-4-4-4-]
D [--x-x-x-x-x-x--x-x-x-x-]
A [--4-2-0-2-0-0--2-2-2-2-] x2

G [-4-4-4-4-]
D [-x-x-x-x-]
A [-2-2-2-2-]

Chorus

End

G [-4-4-4-4-]
D [-x-x-x-x-]
A [-2-2-2-2-]x2

And then

And then:
G [--6-4-2-4-2-0-]
D [--x-x-x-x-x-x-]
A [--4-2-0-2-0-0-]
End on
G [-4-]

Enjoy.

Oh!Gravity - 2007-02-22

Sorry, but I don't find this tab very accurate. It's played in standard first of all. Second, the intro goes more like this

Guitar 1

e|--------------------|
B|--------------------|
G|-1414141414141414-11|(12s and 14s not 1s and 2s and 1s and 4s; repeat twice)
D|-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x--x-|
A|-1212121212121212-9-|
E|--------------------|

Guitar 1

e|-------------
B|-------------
G|-11-9-7-6-4-0
D|-x--x-x-x-x-0
A|-9--7-5-4-2-0
E|-------------

Guitar 2 (plays this through both guitar 1 parts)

e|-7-77--7-77|
B|-7-77--7-77|
G|-8-88--8-88|(Repeat through whole intro)
D|-9-99--9-99|
A|-9-99--9-99|
E|-7-77--7-77|

Then guitar 1 joins in with guitar 2 playing the barre chord, and then guitar 2 plays the barre chord with an effect that makes it sound quieter, and than guitar 1 joins in again until the end of the verse.

I do think I messed up a little on the end of the chorus, but I'm pretty sure they do play the B and E power chords more than once each.
