Playing the Bm and the F# can feel a bit tiresome, but it’s much easier 
playing these chords at capo 2 than open. Also, if you’re not playing that D 
so high (perhaps you’d prefer the E on an open fretboard), try playing in a 
drop-E tuning (capo up to 2, but leave the bottom E string open). I find this 
gives a pleasing balance of making the bar chords easier to play whilst 
maintaining some bass.

um that's great and all but the song is in E major...

Yep - which is why I've listed up in capo 2. I think the voicing is more appropriate as well as easier to play.
