Also, you haven't posted the progression for inbetween the verses and the chorus or at the end of the chorus. It has something to do with the three chords you use in the chorus, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. I might post it if and when I figure it out.
And what in the world is up with the chords for after the bridge? Seriously, those things do NOT work. Again, if I figure out something that does, I'll post it.
Overall, good try at tabbing this complex song. And be thankful you weren't trying to tab the bass part, lol.
Thanks for the comments Sazzy. I realize that quite a bit of the song is missing and that's because, quite honestly, when I tabbed this I had absolutley no idea what it could be. If you think of any ideas whatsoever please let me know. As far as the bridge it definetly is wrong. My tab is in a different key than the rest of the song, I think, which doesn't really make sense... but I think I might have the right intervals. I'll try it in the drop B tuning you suggested and see if I can figure it out. Do you think the little picking part is right? I wan't sure.
Okay, so I've looked it over again and I think that you're right about the tuning, it's drop-b. I've also looked at the chords in the second half of the bridge and they should actually be:
-12-12---5-5---8-8---7-7---10-10---12-12---5-5---8-8---7----
-12-12---5-5---8-8---7-7---10-10---12-12---5-5---8-8---7----
-12-12---5-5---8-8---7-7---10-10---12-12---5-5---8-8---7----
and then play:
-7-7-
-7-7-
-7-7-
before the chorus starts again.
I looked at the part between the chorus and verse again and wonder if it might start like this:
-12-12-14-14-15-
-12-12-12-12-13-
-12-12-12-12-13-
But I could definently be wrong.
In your added bridge section, they do a lot of scratching and the timing is wrong. The chords in the added bridge seem pretty good to me, but I havent tested them yet. I'm tabbing Ordinary, This Is A Call, Bounce and Break The Silence before I tab Last Words. Actually I would like to tab it now, but I'm too lazy to tune down in the moment. I'll finish those other songs first.
Yeah, I do believe the Drop B tuning could be right. I have never really seriously tried to learn this song, but I've always thought I heard some lower chords than Drop D, their usual tuning. They use Drop B for The Art of Breaking and Move in the album The Art of Breaking, and I've heard people talk about them using it in the Set It Off albums. I've never heard those albums though, *crying* so I can't really tell.
By the way, I wonder what the second guitar does in this song. I haven't heard a part with two guitars or the special sound of their Lead Guitar. In all their other songs I've heard it clearly but not in this one. Any ideas where in the song it plays? Could it be so that they only use one guitar in this song? I'm confused...
Wait a moment! The last little strange thing played at the end of each chorus part is octaves and sounds most definetly like the Lead Guitar to me. It's played like this IN DROP D beacause I'm to lazy to tune down right now.
Yes, he "drills" the last octave. If you listen you'll know what I mean. It doesn't go super fast, but I believe I've tabbed it right. If you want it in Drop B then just move everything down 3 frets.
And then the crazy little thing before the two first choruses. It's thumb-harmonics and it could be played by the Lead Guitar. But I don't know how it goes yet because I SUCK at thumb-harmonics. I'll figure it out sometime though.
Man, I've been talking too much! I talked about thumb-harmonics earlier but it could be natural harmonics, I'm not sure. Good job and congrratulations on your first tab! Wish I could send you a cake or something :)
