Dare you to Move: Written by Switchfoot: "The Beautiful Letdown" version. All right, I have studied this song for a while now. I guarantee this is very accurate. I’ve taken into consideration all of the other posts of this song and tried every which way possible in which I think this song can be played. Please note that there are multiple guitars playing in the recording. This, I believe, is the best/most accurate tab that can be compiled for one guitar. Also note that some chords may sound weird on their own, but believe me, when played with the CD, they sound spot on. Sorry in advance for not including the lyrics. The board doesn’t allow lyrics but you can email me (which can be found at the end of the post) and I’ll send you the tab that I typed up on Microsoft Word. In fact, I suggest you email me because I believe it will be easier to read on Microsoft Word, and a little clear as well (since I am able to do a few things more, such as bolding certain numbers/words etc). Second verse: The counting now switches to sixteenth notes again (actually you can count however you want, but this seemed to have worked well for me as I started to learn the song). There are basically two parts to this verse. That should lead you back to the chorus, which is exactly the same as the one given before. Bridge: There are a few ways that this can be done. You can use the chords from the chorus (going from 779900 to 007900 or 009900 (very similar chords)) or you can use the one that is posted below. The reason I choose this way is (1), it will allow for an easier transition at the end of the bridge, (2), the weird chord that I have added will be much easier to transition to and (3) it gives some variety. The only negative I suppose is that the other way (779900 to 007900/009900) allows for an easier transition from the last chord of the chorus to the first chord of the bridge. The strumming pattern sounds a little tricky on the CD, but that’s because two guitars (one playing the main part and one adding some off beat notes) are playing. So I have tried to incorporate both guitars into one by accenting different beats. So instead of counting 1234 and accenting on 1 every time, I have done things a little differently. On the 15th fret you want to bend the B string upwards (toward your face). Make sure you bend it slowly and gradually upwards so that by the end it’s bent more than it was in the beginning. I hope this makes sense, lol. And if you don’t want to do all the weird strumming/counting, then just play 7 7 7 h9, then play on the 5th fret 12 times, the 10th fret 16 times, 12th fret 16 times, and the 15th fret 16 times (with the bend). Just make sure that you only hit the bottom two strings (except for the 7 7 7 h9 part) otherwise it doesn’t sound very good. That’s it.
