OK guys, this is the first tab i've ever written! listen to the song for the
strumming, its not too difficult to hear. I think there is another guitar
playing too, but i'm not sure exactly what he's doing. if anyone knows the
intro/verse please feel free to add it, and if my tab is totally wrong, feel
free to correct it, but i'm pretty sure that it's accurate! if you have any
questions, email me at timistheman99@hotmail.com
God bless!
Tim
Basically you got the whole song. I saw them perform it and they use a capo on the 2nd fret. I added the other riffs as I figured them out. I just posted it. I hope it helps you out.
Same pattern (Em-C-G-Dsus2/B) for verse, pre-chorus, chorus
Em C G Dsus2/B (or Bm7 take your pick)
e--0----0----3----0--------2
B--0----1----0----3--------3
G--0----0----0----2--------2
D--2----2----0----0--------4
A--2----3----2----2--------2
E--0----x----3----x--------x
I think the bridge goes like this
Em C G Dsus2/B Em G C
e--0----0----3----0--------0----3----0
B--0----1----0----3--------0----0----1
G--0----0----0----2--------0----0----0
D--2----2----0----0--------2----0----2
A--2----3----2----2--------2----2----3
E--0----x----3----x--------0----3----x
2nd guitar over intro & chorus (not relative to capo)
(distortion, delay, whatever you have - you know the drill)
A riff that can be played at the beginning of the song
sort of a pre-intro. It is not what they are playing
but it fits so its what I’m going to play. Anyway, it sounds like they’re playing a resonator “Dobro” type guitar.
(relative to capo - because it is easier to play with capo on)
hey if anyone can submit the tab/chords for All For You off their new album that would be sweet! thanks guys! I wish i was any good at tabbing, but guitar is really just a side hobby next to university at this point lol
God bless
hmm sorry stace i haven't heard their new CD, but as soon as i do, i'll do my best to figure it out (its been a while since i've written this tab, i'm getting a lot better :D)
Hey, sorry buddy, i hate to tell you, but i just saw starfield a couple days ago, and they didn't use a capo in "revolution". other songs yes, but not this one! and i've started to get a little bit of the intro. Jon is using some kind of pedal, i'm not sure which one.
this is very rough, but its a general idea of (part of) the intro.
something like that, its not much but its a start. we can work something out of that eventually, if you get it more precise, POST IT! share the wealth!
hey guys i was just listening to the song, about....40 times, lol and i got this to be some of the intro...like the first 2 seconds or so. I saw Starfield at CreationFest05, and i cant remember if they used a capo on Revolution or not, but the capo on 2 thing worked for me so this is what i got:
relevant to capo (not end nut)
-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G----0----0-------------------
D-----------------------------
A-----------------------------
E-0----0-----0h1h4---oh1h4----
Allllrighty then...I must admit that the other intro tabs beat mine. They sound more like the CD. But that is why this is so great. There are lots of ways to do things. OK, I could have been wrong about the capo but I am pretty certain that the key is correct. Use whatever key you like as long as you have the basic progression you can put your own signature on any song. For very cool examples, go get the U2 tribute CD "In The Name Of Love". Pillar does Sunday Bloody Sunday lowered a whole step with D dropped to C. I bet the Edge never thought of that. Starfield plays 40 - excellent. The best of all, though, in my humble opinion, is Santus Real's version of Beautiful Day.
yeah right on Undertone, i love that CD. you're totally right, it really doesn't matter what Key you're doing it in as long as you use the same progressions, unless you're playing along with the CD, in which case it does :P there are so many cool things you can do with a song like this one, and we shouldn't be limited to what Starfield did. endless possibilities. anyway, if you piece together what everyone has posted in this tab or one of the other two Revolution tabs here, you'll get something close enough to the CD version to give you something to work with. back to the U2 remake though, i think Delerious? took the cake with their version of "Pride" they hit that one dead center :)
Hey, i kno this is a really sumwut sad question, but i haven't been playing guitar too long. Anywho, on to the point. When undertone, you said that in your tab, the second guitar doesn't play in relevence to capo, does that still mean the capo is on, just that you still play 13th fret counting from the top of the neck, or does it mean, u just don't use a capo..or wut else could you mean that i haven't listed? Thanks a lot!
In His Service,
Sykes
i'm not sure about this. you guys can check me. this tab is for that pre-intro that they keep using throughout the song., this is right before the electric guitar intro.
oh man we're so close to figuring it out, yoon that's awsome, great progress right there, but there's still something missing! aaagh, if only we had a version where they play that without the delay! that'd be so much easier to hear! good job on that thoug, it's terrific!
Here is what I've figured out. If you have pedals, little dist. and delay.
No capo:
1-+-2-+-3-+-4-+-1-+-2-+-3-+-4-+-
E --------------------------------
B --------------------------------
G --2---2---2---2---2---2---2---2-
D ----------------0---0---0-------
A ------------0-------------2-----
E 2---2---2-----------------------
or if you'd like to capo in 2nd fret, here is how it changes
Here is what I've figured out. If you have pedals, little dist. and delay.
No capo:
1-+-2-+-3-+-4-+-1-+-2-+-3-+-4-+-
E --------------------------------
B --------------------------------
G --0---0---0---0---0---0---0---0-
D ----------------3---3---3-------
A ------------3-------------0-----
E 0---0---0-----------------------
Thats as close as I can nail it...the toughest part for me to write is the timing in the second bar third beat...
Anything else you want, email me at duane@ravenscharm.ca
I know this isn't exactly what they play, they have more notes in there, but this is a simpler version of the lead for the chorus.
