This song has 3 Guitars playing through out. The reason I think this is 
because during the Breaks of distortion, The guitar drops to a low D which 
can only be done with a Drop D tuning but in other areas, Bar chords are 
used and do not totally sound right with drop D. So the only thing I can 
think of is that in recording, the guitarist used 2 guitars to make this song.
Which is totally stupid but the song rocks so who cares.

I just wanted to set the record straight about how many guitars and guitar players there really are. There are PHYSICALLY only 2 guitars being played: an acoustic/electric with a distortion pedal (played by the lead singer, who is playing the intro/verse and throughout) and a distorted electric in Drop D played by the guitarist during the heavier parts. Nevertheless, a freakin' great song with awesome lyrics and great instrumentals!

There are only two guitars and they are both electrics. The lead singer plays the intro/verse with an acoustic simulator stomp box and also both guitar players play in standard tuning for this song!!!!!!!

Brotom, I agree there's only two guitars, but are you sure the 2nd dosen't have a Drop D effect on the pedal. I play with someone who does that, it sounds pretty sweet. Don't know if I'm right or if you are just a suggestion.
