ok, this comes from the man himself, David Crowder. it is 1/2 step down, but the intro isnt power chords and it doesnt start 0h7, i dunno who's tabbing this, but go ahead and play 0h7 on an Gibson Crowder and see what kinda sound you get, lol.
But anyhoo, its actually played as follows:
Eb------3-------2----------------------|-------------------------------------|
Bb------3-------3----------------------|-------5----------3------------------|
Gb-------------------------------------|-------5-----------------------------|
Db-0h2----------0----------------------|-------------------------------------|
Ab-------------------------------------|--0h3-------------3-------------0--0-|
Eb-------------------------------------|-------------------------------------|
I think most people know that the chords listed are relative to a normally tuned guitar, but I'd figure I'd throw that out there before going on the C9 thing.
All C9 means is that you add the 9th note in the scale (which is a D). So it's either 032033 or 032030 or whatever, it just depends.
go to youtube.com and in the search box enter this: david crowder - open skies. Enter it just like that and a video of him playing open skies at a concert comes up. You can see exactly what he's playing. I've found this very helpful.
This is how you play the short intro, not the dj intro part, but the start of the actual song. This is 100% right and it has been tabbed from a video and cd. The riff immediately following the D chord in the first section is very fast and difficult and requires good right hand technique. Listen to the cd and you will get the idea. Practice it slowly first. You will need to use your thumb to slide over the first two notes plucking them very quickly with a sweeping motion. The second riff is not as difficult and can be played in different positions but this is how Crowder plays it. Enjoy
