It's actually easier if you use a G chord progression (G, Dsus, Em7, C2 in whatever order) and tune it down a half-step. Then when you play acoustic you don't have to play bar chords!
yeah, have you ever played a show or for youth group and have to make everyone wait to tune. i had to drop down to Drop D just for one song and it was holding us up
Or just play it in G period. Not that hard and only a 1/2 step difference in pitch. Since the melody itself doesn't go very high, playing in the key of G might actually be helpful to those whose voices can't go very low.

does anyone no the cords that david crowder is playing after their is no one like you, that short little acustic version? hes playing it in drop d i think. its only 4 cords . thanx, and God bless
the intro tab is 77777 5454 and you repeat that on the g string....4 times
the chords are without a capo
verse g em d c
then on...how could you be so good....you play d
Chorus is...g d em c
Bridge.....D and C
and the ending is how you play the chorus...so that is all to it....jsut to tell you know capo!!!
Since there are 3 guitarists in the band, I wouldn't be suprised if the intro and guitar parts were all split up and put together very intricately between the 3 guitars. The best way to break it down and tab it properly is to listen to it through ear phones, that way you can hear if there are different parts in split between the two phones, thus reducing the possibility of mixing two parts. Also lots of listening through ear phones would help, as it would familiarise you with the parts.
But that's just a suggestion, if anyone wants to take up the task.

The intro is 7 7 7700 5 4 545. Played on the G string with the guitar dropped a 1/2 step. David crowder will capo the first fret to play in standard tuning. Does anyone know what type of electric guitar david crowder plays?
Oh and yeah it's not an electric guitar, it's supposedly one of a kind, you can play it either with an amp or without since it is specifically an acoustic guitar, it really sounds awesome. There's another guitar attributed to them by Anderson, it's the ATOM.

Two of my students are starting to play/sing this song.
Being a lazy old coot, I came here looking to see if someone had already figured out the chords to this one. But there seems to be no consensus, so I guess a guy who bought his first guitar in response to Elvis first hit in 1956 better give it a try! Stay tuned, I will be back in a day or two!
