godin_man_scott - 2004-08-02

umm. just a thought. either im not playing the F#m and G#m's correctly or you are mixing keys. because I'm pretty sure that G#m is not in the key of E.

Could you fill me in on how your playing these chords?

pigmy man - 2004-08-03

Hey Godin man dude !!! The song is not in the key of E but in the key of B.. So learn your scales before you start correcting people.

jayhoo62 - 2004-08-08

I think I've mostly figured out the little riff but I'm not sure if it is 100% correct.

e----------------------
b---------------------
g--8--8--8--8h9p8h9---
d---9--9--9-----------

I think that's it but at the end there I don't think I got it quite right.

thousandfootkru - 2004-08-11

hey....

i saw united in concert....marty plays b/d# the way i'm going to tell you...but the other guitar player just palys an Eb.....so b/d# is an E bar chord...but slide your index finger down one fret...from e to d#

and the riff is...

e --2-2-2-----------
b ---0-0-0-0-2-4-2-0
g ------------------

ryan s.

ckamp - 2004-08-12

so what, was my b/d# fingering correct?

ckamp - 2004-08-12

thanks!!

SqUinTz32124 - 2004-08-17

e------------------------------------ x3
b--7p0-7p0-7p0--2h4-2p0--------------
g------------------------------------

b--7p0-7p0-7p0--5h7-5s4--

ckamp - 2004-08-22

gamer_2030 - 2004-09-04

What exactly is B/D#?

CryingNut - 2004-09-11

ckamp your right

CryingNut - 2004-09-11

e-X
B-4 - b
G-4 - b
D-4 - b
A-6 - d
E-X
is B/D#

i think high E is just bar chord

CryingNut - 2004-09-11

technically B/D# is
e-2
B-4
G-4
D-4
A-6
E-X
but for me thats impossible

E--0--
B--0--
G--8--
D--x--
A--6--
E--X--

And this is how i think the solo thigy goes.
E-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G--11-----11---11------8h9-8--x3

A-----------------------------
E-----------------------------

B------0-----0-----0--2h4p2p0
G----------------------------

Iam am Jeremy - 2004-11-26

Hey Godin man scott. G#m is in the key of E

guitar_drummer - 2004-12-20

E-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G---11-11--11-----------------
D--------9---9-9-9-11-13-11-9-
A-----------------------------
E-----------------------------

guitar_drummer - 2004-12-21

E-----------------------------
B-----------------------------
G----11-11-11-11--------------
D---------9--9--999-11-13-11-9
A-----------------------------
E-----------------------------

churchguy14 - 2005-01-10

your all wrong, B/D# just means that if your a bass player you play the chord on the right of the slash and if your a guitar player you play the chord on the left. It just makes the song sound cooler.

dums - 2005-01-28

Yup! i agree with churchguy...but if you will play this song solo...you have to play a B chord having your base in D#...it goes like this...
e X this is the B/D#...but if you have a basist you do'nt need to play the D#
b 4 as your base chord, intead play the B chord and the basist must hit the D#..
g 4 THAT'S GUYS!! just sharing....
d 4
a 6
E X

AcousticServant - 2005-02-06

supertux...isn't that chord an eb?

SRC YC - 2005-02-07

wats all this arguing over one song????? juz buy the book like me, i have no problems watsoever....

godin_man_scott - 2005-02-23

uhh...the first version of the chord is right.....WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING THE B/D# on guitar, YOU PLAY THE D# AS WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wonki - 2005-02-28

well i think the chords after he sings im free are right in the first place, and i play the solo thing all on the one string

vobafo_player - 2005-07-16

ryan s, your tab is 100% correct. also the way the songbook says to play the B/D# is like so,

E-0
B-0
G-8
D-9
A-6
E-x

but it doesn't really matter, as long as you get it to sound good (especially with your voice) then play the song however you want.

mmggppmgp - 2005-07-29

im just saying Eb is the same thing as D#... D# jus kinda sound more appropriate

GOD-IS-SICK - 2005-08-24

Hey guys, sick tab going here.I love this song. I play the riff part like this at church. Sounds pretty correct. Also have another guitar playing in the next octave, makes it sound pretty phat! Enjoy.

H= hammer on, P= pull off.

E--------------------------
B--------------------------
G--11---11--11----8H9P8---- X3
D----9---9----9-9------9---
A--------------------------
E--------------------------

4th time play this

E--------------------------------
B--------------------------------
G--11-11--8-9-9-9/H/11/P/9/P/8---
D----9--9---------------------9--
A--------------------------------
E--------------------------------

Hope it isn't to confussing for you guys
Peace out and love God!!!!!!!

Iam am Jeremy - 2005-10-24

HEY ACOUSTIC SERVANT

WELL EVEN IF THE CHORD WAS AN Eb NOT A B/D# I T WOULDN'T BE CALLED AN Eb IT WOULD BE CALLED A D#.

kolincanuck - 2006-05-23

Hey, thanks guys..I'll try to get an average form all these versions and see hwa t I come up with..lol..so yea..I am trying to figure out the rythem/strum pattern of how its played on the Live CD..its ahrd to hear the acoustic sometimes, especailly in the Chorus.if anyone has any good ideas, let me know..it is 4/4 right?

MikeAlexander - 2006-07-22

this is one way to play the B/D#.
E 4
B 7
G 4
D 4
A 6
E 4
and yes, you can also play it as
E-0
B-0
G-8
D-9
A-6
E-x
but I think the fist way sounds nicer. If you want a free chord dictionary download the dacdictionary and just print off all the chords (its a trial, but they you can still print off all the chords)

Gary G - 2006-11-18

Does anyone know what the acoustic cord progession is for the intro to this song?

merchant - 2007-01-06

Yo, Gary G here is the ac. intro for Free. Enjoy! :)

E B B/D# E F# E B/D# F#
e----------------------------
B----------------------------
G-9-----9--9--11--9--9--11---
D-9--9--9--9--11--9--9--11---
A-7--9--6--7--9---7--6--9----
E----7-----------------------

6strings21frets - 2007-04-20
