----------------------------------------------------------------------
I play on five-string bass, but here's a four-string version. If there
is sufficient demand , I'll type up a five-string version.
Verse:
G---------------------------------------------------
D---------------------------------------------------
A-0-0--0-0--0-0--0-0--5-3--0-0--0-0--0-0--0-0-------
E----------------------------------------------0-3--
A D C A E G
Listen to the CD for the few points in the song where all instruments
are muted (like 27 seconds in).
Chorus:
G---------------------------------
D---------------------------------
A-7-7-5-5-4-4-----5-5-4-4---------
E-------------7-7---------7-7-5-5-
e D C# B D C# B A
The chorus then rips from the verse, the exact same riff. The whole deal
is played over again, although you might note that the G isn't played the
second time through, and the song simply hangs on the E (this is heard
about a minute into the song.
Bridge:
G-----------------
D-----------------
A-------------5-3-
E-0-3-5---0-3-----
E G A E G D C
The key to making the bridge sound good is to appoach it gently. For
example, you can easily do a pull-off from the D to C to get a quieter
transition. One other thing that I discovered (rather by accident) is
an interesting sound you get when you alternate the order of the D and C.
Play D to C the first time through, then C to D... you get the idea =Þ
